As you know, Hurricane Irma is on her way.
She’s big, she’s bad, and we are all very, very apprehensive, even those of us who have been through Andrew, Wilma and assorted other catastrophes. This is a scary storm.
To help our employees prepare and safeguard our building premises, we have officially “closed” until the storm passes. That means we will not be in the office this afternoon Thursday, September 7 or tomorrow, Friday September 8. As soon as we’ve been given the all-clear, we’ll head back to the office to resume service.
But we are still here to support you. Please make note of the following emergency phone numbers and update procedures:
If you cannot reach us, please call Charles Schwab directly at any time for questions or service needs. The number for Schwab Alliance is 800-515-2157. Schwab has several regional offices across the country so they are available to help you regardless of the weather situation in Florida. And of course, it goes without saying that your assets are always safe and secure at Schwab, which is one of the reasons we have selected them to serve as your Custodian. If we are not available, they can help you with any unexpected money needs.
In the event we lose electrical power in our office, our main phone lines are programmed to roll to a Comcast answering service and alternate back-up phone numbers. Please feel free to leave a message or send me an email directly at email@example.com. We will all do our best to respond to your messages as soon as possible, given the availability of telephone and internet service.
We will also post periodic updates regarding the weather and our office status on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and our main web page (please note that Twitter updates are conveniently displayed toward the bottom right of our website’s main landing page, so look for updates there as well).
Most importantly, please stay safe. This is a very dangerous storm. We look forward to speaking to you as soon as this is over.
