We know the Keys really took a beating with Irma, and few people, other than rescue/repair crews and homeowners, have been down in the Keys so far to survey the extent of the damage.
But we’ve already seen some “before” and “after” Irma pictures like those in the South Florida SunSentinel that make us sad for all the residents, business people and tourists who love the Florida Keys. Many of us have fond memories of time spent relaxing, boating and eating Stone Crab down there.
One of the “before” and “after” pictures in the SunSentinel is of the Postcard Inn in Islamorada. Last year a friend and I spent a wonderful weekend paddle-boarding, kayaking and enjoying that special Keys vibe at the Postcard Inn which – sad to say – had recently been renovated.
How to help
We wish all our fellow Floridians well as they rebuild and restore Irma’s damage. If you want to help, Charity Navigator has a good list of
charities providing assistance in the wake of Hurricane Irma or check out the list put together by The Miami Foundation.
