Hooray for Hollywood!
Hollywood, Florida, that is.
Hollywood just earned its place on Money Magazine’s “Best Places To Retire 2016” list, snatching the crown as “Best in the Southeast.”
Our neighbor to the south, located on the coastal strip between Miami and Fort Lauderdale, boasts mid-century architecture, a bodacious 2½ mile-long boardwalk, and of course, Florida’s fabulous low-tax environment, which makes your retirement dollars go further.
What were the geographic advantages that clinched the deal for Hollywood? Money cited Hollywood’s low real estate prices, compared with other beachfront locales, and its ease as a jumping-off point for domestic and international travel, since it’s only a short drive to the Miami and Fort Lauderdale airports as well as the Port Everglades cruise hub.
