On Sunday we enjoyed a fabulous tour by trolley of Fort Lauderdale’s historic homes, starting with the 1914 “Parrot/Baxter House” (did you realize that these period homes still exist in so-new Florida and are being lovingly maintained by neighborhood families?), then stopping to visit several mid-century modern showplaces, and ending with a 1930s Georgian Revival home off of Las Olas.
The holidays are a great time to explore our community’s architectural gems. It’s amazing to see what fabulous homes – and luxurious renovations – are hidden just off the main streets and behind that big hedge. It’s all to benefit the Broward Trust for Historic Preservation.
Don’t miss next year’s event!
P.S. Thanks to all the volunteers who made this event possible, and all the hard-working and welcoming homeowners who opened their doors to us!
