Client Services Associate Nancy Alvarez #50 and husband Carlos #51 participated in the Second Annual Run AWAY 5K Trail Run/Walk earlier this month to help increase awareness about sustainable living.

Held at the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County’s Greenway Trail System, this 3.1 mile course took runners through cabbage palms, cypress hammocks, marshes and lush pine flat woods, with glimpses of Grassy Waters Preserve and the Renewable Energy Park.

Proceeds from this family-friendly 5K Trail Run/Walk benefits the nonprofit Resource Depot and their efforts to keep reusable resources out of the landfill and put them back in the hands of those who need them in our community.

romeo croppedMany of our clients work with Senior Client Services Associate Stephanie Cooper. When you speak with Stephanie, ask her about her new buddy “Romeo.”

That’s the 9-week old pitbull Stephanie and her sister Jennifer are now fostering. Animal Care & Control found Romeo with a bad leg injury and cuts all over his body. This is the first time they’ve ever had a dog in the house (they are cat lovers) and Stephanie reports that Romeo is recovering just fine! Romeo and their kitten, Owen, are both happy to have a new friend in the house to play with.

Rachael April 2016 croppedRachael Grattan, Associate Financial Advisor, just aced her 5th and latest class, focused on Estate Planning, in the Certified Financial Planner™ coursework sequence. She has now started the 6th (and final) class segment on creating a Financial Plan, and will then sit for the comprehensive final exam. india taj mahalMari Adam just returned from a trip to India with her daughter, who finished her engineering degree last year and has joined the working world (always a good reason to celebrate!). They had a great time exploring starting from Delhi and Agra (home of the Taj Mahal), through Rajasthan, and down to Mumbai – via overnight train – and Goa. The highlights? Learning more about Indian regional cooking, visiting small villages and historic family palaces, a stroll down Mumbai’s waterfront after high tea at the landmark Taj Hotel, and rooftop dining in beautiful Udaipur. They learned after the fact that they stayed in a hotel where segments of “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” were filmed!
