Like many of you, we are carefully monitoring the weather situation as Hurricane Irma approaches.
According to reports from the National Hurricane Center, Hurricane Irma is now an extremely dangerous Category 5 hurricane with maximum sustained wind speeds of 185 miles-per-hour. The storm is expected to approach Florida Saturday, September 9 or Sunday, September 10.
We plan to try to maintain normal office hours throughout this week, but may need to adjust our schedule in response to storm-related safety directives and building management policies. We will likely need to cancel and reschedule client and other meetings for next week, and possibly beyond. We will contact you to reschedule any meetings.
Please make note of the following emergency phone numbers and update procedures:
If you cannot reach us, please call Charles Schwab directly at any time for questions or service needs. The number for Schwab Alliance is 800-515-2157. Schwab has several regional offices across the country so they are available to help you regardless of the weather situation in Florida. And of course, it goes without saying that your assets are always safe and secure at Schwab, which is one of the reasons we have selected them to serve as your Custodian. All scheduled transactions, such as monthly distributions to your bank accounts, will be executed as scheduled.
In the event we lose electrical power in our office, our main phone lines are programmed to roll to a Comcast answering service and alternate back-up phone numbers. Please feel free to leave a message or send me an email directly at email@example.com. We will all do our best to respond to your messages as soon as possible, given the availability of telephone and internet service.
We will also post periodic updates regarding the weather and our office status on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and our main web page (please note that Twitter updates are conveniently displayed toward the bottom right of our website’s main landing page, so look for updates there as well).
If you have any urgent projects or financial needs that need to be taken care of right away, please contact our office as soon as possible.
Most importantly, please stay safe, as this looks like a monumental and very dangerous storm. We look forward to speaking to you soon.
