Schwab has sent out an alert advising that some clients across the country have received “phishing” email and text messages purporting to be from Schwab.
Clients have been asked to click a link and provide sensitive personal information including a passport or driver’s license.
Schwab advises clients that they would never ask clients to provide sensitive information via email or text message.
Sensitive information should only be provided over a secure network that you log on to using an independently known and verified web address and your personal ID and password.
If you receive one of these emails from Schwab, please do not click on it or respond.
Security is very important to all to us. If you have questions or want to verify the validity of any Schwab communication, please feel free to call our office at any time.
