The future of the financial planning profession looks bright, based on the outstanding skills of the two interns we just hosted in our office.
Rising seniors Brandon Gaier, from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, and Katherine Joyce, from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, are completing an 8-week rotation with Charles Schwab in Orlando learning how independent Registered Investment Adviser firms, like ours, deliver cutting edge financial planning and investment solutions to clients.
Katherine, a Business undergrad at Notre Dame, grew up in Singapore and has gained additional international experience through prior internships in Australia and Ireland. She looks forward to earning her Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation, helping clients with their financial and investment needs, and contemplates opening her own firm one day.
Brandon worked at a national brokerage firm last summer, and would like to be an investment analyst. He’ll graduate from UCF in 2016 with degrees in Finance and Accounting, and plans to earn his Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) designation while earning hands-on industry experience. He led a United Way fundraising team at UCF, and hails from Coral Springs, Florida, where his parents live.
Millennials like Brandon and Katherine are the new faces of our industry. We’re excited to watch them bring new perspectives, technology and techniques to serving the clients of the future, and wish them much success in their careers! Good luck, Brandon and Katherine!
