Don’t forget that your personal tax return is due Monday, April 15.
If you don’t have time to get your tax information together, not a problem. Just make sure you or your tax preparer files an extension giving you more time to get it done.
Your tax payments are still due on the 15th, even if you extend, so make an effort to estimate what you owe and send in your payment by the deadline to avoid interest and penalties.
(Not to ruin your day, but the first installment of estimated taxes for 2019 is also due on April 15, so if you pay estimated taxes, prepare to pony up two payments before Monday – your final 2018 tax payment and your first estimate for 2019 – sorry!).
Clients, if there is any information you need for your taxes, please call us this week and we’ll get it to you or your tax advisor immediately. Any IRA or Roth IRA contributions MUST be submitted by the April 15 deadline, so call us to make arrangements to get those done as soon as possible, if you have not done so already.
Wishing everyone a happy (and painless) tax day!
