We are proud to announce that our firm, Adam Financial Associates, was recently re-certified by the National Women Business Owners Corporation (NWBOC) as a woman-owned and woman-controlled business.
NWBOC is a leading national certifier of Women Business Enterprises.
Being a woman-owned firm places us in very select company in our industry, as fewer than 10% of comparable advisory firms are female-owned, according to data from Cerulli Associates.
Why does this matter?
Women advisors bring to the table a unique understanding of the needs of women clients. Estimates are that as many as nine out of 10 women will be solely responsible for their finances at some point in their lives.
Women often earn less, live longer and are less prepared to provide for the financial needs of themselves and their families. They need to make a special effort to be adequately prepared for retirement, yet the financial services industry is frequently viewed as unresponsive and often hostile to the needs of women investors.
Many women prefer and are more comfortable working with women advisors. In fact, twice as many women working with a female advisor said they were “extremely satisfied” with the relationship, compared with women working with male advisors.
Women report that female advisors excel at “listening to them and understanding their investing needs.”
We believe that women (and men) in all walks of life need to understand and take charge of their personal finances so they can reach their personal goals. We’re proud to do our part to make that a reality.
