Many of our women clients talk about the trips they’re just dying to take …. but don’t, because they don’t want to travel alone.
And it’s not just single, divorced or widowed women. Even married women put off their travel dreams because their partner doesn’t share their travel interests, can’t get away from work, or maybe isn’t up for a longer getaway.
As one women’s travel group explains it:
We’ve asked thousands of women: “What’s your biggest obstacle to traveling?” Answers include money and not being able to get time away from work and responsibilities… but the #1 answer is “I don’t have someone to go with.”
That’s why we sponsored a women’s travel seminar last week. (If you missed it, make sure you’re on our invitation list for next year!). If travel is on your “bucket list,” we want to help make those travel dreams a reality.
At our lunch, we enjoyed some great Italian cuisine (including fresh cannolis!), mapped out our “dream travel” destinations, and learned all about trips organized just for women, by women, from local expert Jennifer Vander Lind of Women Traveling The World, who stopped by to answer all our questions.
Jennifer has experience putting together women-only trips to destinations like Croatia, Kenya, and Ireland, and shared with us how many of her women travelers enjoy their trip so much they remain fast friends long after the tour is over.
For our seminar guests, we put together a handy resource list of tour groups that cater to women travelers (just ask us to email you a copy!). There is no shortage of inspiring trips to meet just about every taste and budget … from horseback riding in Iceland, painting in Provence, touring the Chelsea Flower Show and English gardens, to hiking in Bhutan.
Our sincere thanks, again, to tour organizers Adventure Women, Women’s Travel Group, Sights and Soul Travels, Women Traveling The World, Road Scholar and Country Walkers for sharing with us information and guides on some of their truly amazing upcoming trips!
Here’s the results of our informal travel poll:
Just where is it that our female guests wanted to go on their next trip? Top dream destinations included Turkey, Greece, Italy, Provence (for cooking classes), Ireland, Morocco, Kenya, Thailand, Myanmar, Australia, and Patagonia.
